Oblivion ****

Oblivion was surprisingly entertaining even though the story was not very in-depth. It was fast paced and visually stunning. The house pods and vehicles were very different and neat to look at. The ending was a pleasent surprise that made you leave feeling good and I'm glad that the ending made sense for once. I hate when they just end it. I like that they put some thougt into it. But I have to say character developement was lacking and I'm a huge stickler on that. I understand Jack was an astronaut and the people who feel from the sky were his crew but there are a lot of holes here.....Like when he ejected the pod of sleeping people were they really floating around for 60 years? I thought he said they were set for reentry and wouldnt the pods battery die killing them all before 60 years even came about? How did that little beeping code bring the pod down? I don't know about these things but for me this is far fetched even for sci-fi. As for the aliens unfortunately you never really see them. All you know is they came to our planet for energy. But were the aliens robots or little men you never see riding in triangular vehicles? If they were robots why did they need our water? I guess they could be farming it and turning it to energy maybe another thing they could have answered. But as a whole I was entertained and I did find it fun to watch. It was a unique approach to the alien invasion genre and defiantly appreciated.
