47 Ronin ****

Well 47 Ronin was not what I expected in a good way. All you Keanu Reeves haters out there need to give him some credit. 47 Ronin had the best story telling I have seen in a long time. The CGI was seamless the monster were very creative and interesting. Keanu did a great job acting in this movie he didn't really speak much but he played his party perfectly you were invested in the characters you cared what happened to them you held your head high with pride and honor you felt like you were one of the 47 Ronin ready to give you life for what was right. It has been a long time since a story had captivated me so deeply. I am sad that this movie didn't get the traffic that it deserved just because it had Keanu Reeves in it but say what you want about his slow surfer speech and dumber then a box of rocks act. He had proven himself a great actor people forget there are a lot of movies that are great that he has stared in. like Matrix trilogy , Speed, The Lake House, classics like Bill and Teds excellent adventure, Point Break, The Day the Earth Stood Still, The Replacements, I could go on forever but all you need to take away from this post is that you need to go see 47 Ronin and then tell ten of your friends. Cause if you haven't see it you are missing out.

You're Next *** 1/2

who's up for a great Horror movie this girl right here. I have to say I picked this movie up based solely on the cover it is a very intriguing cover. I'm not going to lie the beginning was rough to get through some really bad acting  but once the action started you kind of forgot about that. The main Character Erin (awesome name by the way lol) was well written I was so happy to see a girl that didn't just scream and run into a room with no exit trip over air and scoot herself across the floor crying and pointing a weapon she is never going to use. If your a true Horror fan you know exactly what I'm talking about lol. This Erin Chick was bad ass she didn't hesitate and shocked even me by her gumption. Parts of it was a bit predictable but the movie was very enjoyable and at the end you will say holy shit!!! I am defiantly going to buy this one it was a nice surprise.

Lone Survivor *****

The new Mark Wahlberg movie Lone Survivor is a must see. I couldn't wait to see this movie not because I am  huge Mark Wahlberg fan because I am but because I'm a bigger Ben Foster Fan. This movie tells just a short part of these courageous men's life but it has a huge impact. This movie restores my faith in humanity if only just a little bit. It made me really think what our soldiers go through on a daily basis and I have got to say they are stronger then me and I appreciate there sacrifice and the sacrifice of there families. I hope that this movie at least is nominated for the academy award for best film because it truly deserves it. Capitan Philips also is a true and great story but Lone Survivor pulls at the heart and gives you hope. If the Hurt Locker can win then Lone Survivor can at least be nominated. I don't want to give anything away but this movie bonds you to these people and you feel every high and low you are so engrossed into the story that I am happy to say FINALLY a movie that has amazing character development and story .... you hear me say it over and over again and finally Thank You Peter Berg for directing this beautiful piece of art. .I just hope that people take notice because it is not all hype this movie is the best war movie since Saving Private Ryan,!

Riddick ***

I know I wasnt the only person who was looking forward to this movie finally being made. I am a huge Vin Diesel fan not to mention a Riddick fan. But I may have hyped myself and the movie up so much in my head that I had doomed myself for disappointment. I have to say that I was highly upset with the cheesy lines when I heard them I just kept thinking Riddick wouldnt say that. It wasn't till maybe half way through the movie where I started to feel like I was watching a Riddick film. I understand he was suppose to be "broken" but hello this is Riddick the badass furyian who you can not hurt let alone kill. The beginning was a bit emo im not gonna lie. The dog was awesome I loved that relationship and I hated that they killed it but I understand why they did it was what Ruddick needed to get his mojo back. The casting was iffy at best I thought that the new Johns was the original Johns son not dad I mean you could have casted an older person so it would at least look possible. When I raised this point in a discussion with a friend of mine he informed me that it could be possible that a dad could look younger then his son by being in hyper sleep for a longer period of time then the son. So OK this maybe true but if your not thinking that when watching the movie you coukd be like me and say WTF how is he the dad he looks so much younger then Johns from Pitch Black and that was over ten years ago.....I did actually like Batista in the movie he did a good job I wasn't thinking oh god another wrestler is trying to act I actually didn't think that at all. I liked Katee Sackhoff in the movie I loved her in Battlestar Galactica but if she is not into men then why at the end was she all over Riddick I mean really the whole movie we had to hear how she didn't "do" men. I can't blame her I would switch teams too for Riddick but it just seemed off almost akward. The ending was solid after that I do Wish Karl Urban was in it more but they did hint that there will be another one so I can't wait to see it but I will not hype it up so much this time...

Hunger Games: Catching Fire **** 1/2

Catching Fire was a movie I was counting down the days till it was released. I am so glad to say they did not disappoint. I do have to say for the record I was a little bit annoyed with the first one with the omission of the very important character Madge. But they redeemed themselves  with the second instalment which was pretty much how I imagined it as I read the book except.....yes there is a but I had a different interpretation when I was reading the book so it may just be me but, I didn't think Katniss loved Gale in that way the portrayed it the movie. I assumed she loved him more like a brother / best friend so I was a bit confused with the movies love triangle. I know she didn't want to hurt either boys but I thought she loved Gale as a brother and Peeta more as a boyfriend but pushed him away because she didn't want to hurt like her mom if she lost him. Maybe I just read into it what I wanted to not what was really there. please feel free to correct me. But number two.....If I'm not mistaking they omitted another character  Lavina the bed chamber maid with no tongue......She plays a huge part in the second and third book. She is one of the people tortured to death in front of Peeta to traumatize him so I feel that she deserved a part. I'm glad they included the arrest of Cinna it was exactly the way I thought it would be very emotional and dramatic.  Everything else in the movie was perfect I didn't want it to end at all I feel they ended the movie at the perfect spot. I am now counting down the days until the third one comes out.

Grown ups 2 ***** Hilarious

Finally a funny comedy ......I have not laughed this hard in a movie in a long time (I snorted I was laughing so hard). The movie critics didn't give it good reviews saying there was no point to the movie but there is. I wonder if these said critic's have families. The movie is about the gang moving back from the city to there home town and everyday life as mundane as it is when you put down roots and just have your friends for entertainment. I mean I have been married for 11 years and I have two kids and this was like a day in the life man, hit the nail on the head. I guess you can call it the family man's shenanigans. We all have friends like these characters (or at least I do) so we can relate that is what makes it so funny. It's about how we get older but we are still that same person who wants to have fun we still dare are friends to jump of the cliff like we did in high school. There's will always be that spot that ever generation thinks they found first. It shows how this young generation has no respect for anyone let alone there elders and need a good ass beating. I like that they put bullies in the movie to show kids that its not ok to pick on kids and that you can be strong and stand up for yourself.
I do have one issue with the movie it was missing Rob Schneider and they don't even mention him...... but , one a positive note I didn't notice until about half way through. They added some great new characters like Shaq's part which I have to say he is freaking funny. They have all the same kids which is cool to see them growing up. It has a great message and it just makes you feel good. I don't understand some of these critic's bashing this movie. It is down right one of the funniest movies to come out in a long time and I'm talking at least two years. Yes it blows The Heat, Identity Thief ,  Hangover 3 and any other comedy that has come out in the last two years out of the water.

Frozen Ground ****

Frozen Ground is a true story about an Alaskan state trooper named Jack Holcombe who hunts down a serial rapist/killer. Now I love a good movie based off a true story but, sometimes you wonder did this really happen. Well I can say for sure this one did. It started back in the early 70's and ended in the early 80's. The casting was great in this movie Nicholas Cage plays the state trooper (and he was the nick cage we all fell in love with he doesn't do the usual crazy thing he does he was great) while Vanessa Hudgens plays the victim Cindy Paulson and she plays a great hot mess a little whinny but she did a good job . John Cusack plays Robert Hansen the bad guy and I'm starting to think that John Cusack maybe in a very dark place right now because his last 4 roles have been really horribly dark. I have to say he plays a great serial killer but I think he may need a change to something a little happier cause he is really starting to look the part which is creepy and I'm starting to worry about his mental health. This story is tragic and I mean super chilling made more so by the fact this is true. I mean 10 years he was able to get away with it. I just don't understand the justice system sometimes. The Writer/Director Scott Walker added some nice touches to the movie. I enjoyed the photo gallery of all the real girls who's bodies were found and not found I think that was a great touch and also really cemented this movie as being not just another kidnap/torture film. It really hit home the fact that these poor women went through such unspeakable things and he was almost not caught. This movie was captivating and kept you interested the whole time. I also wonder why this movie wasn't advertised or in theaters long? I mean it came to theaters in August 2013 and was released on DVD in October 2013 that is a quick turn around. On rotten tomatoes it has an average of 5.1 stars out of 10 come on people have we become so numb to theses types of stories that we just shrug it off. This movie wasn't very graphic which I appreciate I like them just hinting around about what happened or making suggestions letting me use my imagination which can make the violence more brutal and the anticipation greater. Over all a well written chilling movie. I say its a must see. On a side note though I thought the wife of the state trooper was a cold hearted bitch......watch the movie you will see why.
