Jurassic World *****

I could not wait to see this movie I was so excited that they were making it. When I heard that Chris Pratt was playing in it I was so pumped I love him in Guardians of the Galaxy but, because of my claustrophobic eek there is a stranger using my arm rest thing I tend to wait a week or two after it comes out to see it. Unfortunately that means I have to avoid social media so I don't get told the ending. Lucky for me the only thing I saw accidentally was that some people didn't buy into the you can train a raptor which I could understand. So I finally got to go see it Father's Day and Oh My God it was so worth the wait. Here are some spoilers so if you haven't seen it STOP here. The dinosaurs were awesome the acting was great. I loved all the little touches that were put in for us movie nerds to feast our hearts on. Like them feeding Jaws to the big water dinosaur ( sorry I'm not even going to try and type all the proper names) if you want a PC article you came to the wrong place! I totally geeked out when they came upon all the old Jurassic park stuff. The fact that they had B.D Wong the original scientist really made me happy. They did right by this movie they didn't make it feel like a sequel it was its own movie it held its own . Let's not forget the epic ending with the fact that it was the original t-Rex from the first movie 😀😀😀. Now about the raptor training I totally feel it could happen they always say if you start early enough you can train anything and since they say in the movie he imprinted on them at birth I will totally believe it's possible. I also loved that they gave each raptor their own personality I could tell who was who in the movie which is so neat because when all the action is going on you knew what was happening and to who.i didn't expect it to end the way it did but all I can say is it's a pretty long movie but I wanted it to keep going I loved it and can't wait to see it again.

I want a movie series commitment!!!

Well I read a lot and love that the movie industry is bring some of my favorite book series to life but, I have one complaint if you are gonna make one movie I feel you must make a commitment to make all the rest even if it is a so called bomb at the box office. For example I just watched the immortal instrument and I have read the books and even though I thought that some of the casting was off I still enjoyed the movie now they are not going to make the rest because it only made 31 million state side... Well what I really blame is the PR department if they would have advertised it better maybe more people would have gone and seen it I didn't even see a trailer for it I actually saw it at Walmart on dvd and bought it because I didn't even know it was out. Now my favorite series is the vampire academy and I posted all the time they should make it into a movie series when they finally did I went to see it in the theater but who the freak did the casting did they even read the books.... I think If they didn't make it like a teen spoof on vampire high school and made it serious like the books are it would have done better but for those of us who seen it multiple times and it finally grew on us shouldn't suffer for the mistakes of the casting director because now I will never see the other 6 books made into movies 😭. So basically the reason for this blog today is just to say I need a commitment from the movie industry to make the whole series instead of leading me on to get hooked on something to never see the end. It's just not right...... Thanks for your time until next time 😀

Predestination ***

I don't even know where to start with this movie. It is based on time travel but the first hour is you listening to a story being told by a customer at a bar to the bar tender. Then it takes a weird turn and you say WTF no way. Then it ends and your left not really knowing how you feel about the movie. You don't hate it but you don't love it and your confused by what went on. So now I watched this movie about a week ago and it took me that long to process the movie actually I'm still processing it lol. It left me with a lot of question and my brother and I have debated the biology of it to see if it could even be possible. All in all I would have to say it's worth a watch once maybe even twice but I don't know if it's actually a good movie or if it just left me with questions I want answered. Maybe you should watch it and leave me your thoughts.

TMNT ***

Well of course I would have to go openning weekend to see this movie I grew up with the turtles. I have a soft spot for them. My kids watch the new turtles and love them but, yet for me I love the old ones and this is a daily agrgument at my house as to which are better lol. So we all went to the movies with great excitement with our favorite turtle mask on and all. Then the movie started and they talked for the first time and my balloon of excitement deflated...now let me explain I love the old turtles you could tell them apart by there voice because each voice sounded like there personality. If i were blind I couldn't tell Donatello from Michelangelo and Leonardo hardly spoke and Raphael didn't sound to tough to me and don't get me started on splinter who wasn't Japanese/Chinese. But my kids didn't even notice they were sucked into the movie and were enjoying every minute so I tried to let it go. Then the first fight scene happened....hello the foot are ninja fighters they don't use guns.....so here you have the ninja turtles fighting the foot using ninja weapons vs there guns....very disappointing. I do have to say the writting was good I was laughing and enjoying the banter between April and her camera man and April and the turtles but as I say the devils in the details and thoses details how ever small matter to me. The movie was over and we left the theather my kids screaming we need to buy this movie its the best movie ever and all I wanted to do is go home and watch my original teenage muntant ninja turtle movies.....

Maleficent ****

Angelina Jolie
Maleficent is by far my favorite villain even when I was a little kid and when I heard they were making a movie about her I was beyond excited but, yet I was scared I was afraid they were going to ruin it. I was happy to see we were finally going to get her side of the story since they don't tell you much in either book or movie. But come to find out at the end of the movie....SPOILER ALERT..... It wasn't her side at all she wasn't the one telling the story. It was Aurora telling her what she observed and was told (because be honest she wasn't alive for the beginning and then was a baby so you know she had to have been told). Anyhow I have been distracted sorry where I was oh yes so I was a little disappointed that it wasn't being told by Maleficent. The story was interesting and I learned things about maleficent I didn't know which was awesome and the casting was great. Angelina Jolie was born to play her she was perfect. Elle Fanning was beautiful and exactly what I would have imagined Aurora to be. But the character that captivated me by surprise was her crow I loved how they transitions him into different things (human, wolf, dragon) and gave him such a great part I'm glad they included him. But that also leads me to the part I was disappointed in she didn't turn into the dragon...........yeah so that was a little disappointing and the way they did it wasn't bad it is just I was waiting for her to turn into a dragon. I loved the difference in the story because there is always two sides I would recommend it for you and your family my kids loved it.

Godzilla ****

Who doesn't love a monster movie and Godzilla is the crème de la crème. I was hoping we would do justice to this monster god because lets face it our track record for rebooting films is less then stellar. But I have to say it was entertaining and Godzilla looked great sounded great the action was great but sadly there wasn't much of the main man in the movie. It started off solid and I enjoyed the beginning but once it got to the 15 years later mark it felt like there was a lot of pointless scenes that didn't have much point to the main story. I feel that they could have eliminated these scenes and gave us more monster on monster action.  The fight scenes were awesome and got you pumped but they were maybe the last 25 minutes of the 2 hour movie. I can say that the first time you heard Godzilla roar it sent chills down your spine but it was over all too quick.  I feel that yes Godzilla was in the movie but it was more about the guy saying he has to get back to his family. But at every turn choosing to not get back to his family and putting himself were ever the monster was all in the name of duty. It was a bit annoying he kept telling his wife to wait for him but then he choose not to get there on time. I do love that they made Godzilla like a hero in this movie but I can tell you humans would not cheer if Godzilla got up and walked to the water after defeating the other monsters  we would try to kill it just saying. But over all it was a  good movie I just wish it was more monster less human.

American Hustle **

American Hustle how did this get nominated for all those awards it was the most boring movie I have seen in a long time. I think the best acting in that whole movie was Christian Bales comb over. Jennifer Lawrence was a hot mess I think she channeled her inner Kristen Stewart she was awkward at best. I usually love Jennifer Lawrence but I did not like her in this film. Bradley Cooper was an annoying cry baby who as an undercover cop I would have thought would be smarter. Amy Adams was a saving grace in this film she did well with what she had to work with. But by no means great. Jeremy Renner was just forgettable you don't really remember him once the film is over. The story telling just dragged on and on boring you to death. You figured it out in the first five minutes then had to sit through the next hour and forty five minutes of your life wishing it would just end already. I am in just awe at how this movie could win over some of the other movies nominated.  I would have much rather seen Lone Survivor in the nomination spot instead of this drivel. I will not throw any punches this was a piece of crap. DO NOT waste you time and life on this one. I think we should choose new judges for the academy and make the judging solely based on the quality of the film and acting rather then money or political views.

47 Ronin ****

Well 47 Ronin was not what I expected in a good way. All you Keanu Reeves haters out there need to give him some credit. 47 Ronin had the best story telling I have seen in a long time. The CGI was seamless the monster were very creative and interesting. Keanu did a great job acting in this movie he didn't really speak much but he played his party perfectly you were invested in the characters you cared what happened to them you held your head high with pride and honor you felt like you were one of the 47 Ronin ready to give you life for what was right. It has been a long time since a story had captivated me so deeply. I am sad that this movie didn't get the traffic that it deserved just because it had Keanu Reeves in it but say what you want about his slow surfer speech and dumber then a box of rocks act. He had proven himself a great actor people forget there are a lot of movies that are great that he has stared in. like Matrix trilogy , Speed, The Lake House, classics like Bill and Teds excellent adventure, Point Break, The Day the Earth Stood Still, The Replacements, I could go on forever but all you need to take away from this post is that you need to go see 47 Ronin and then tell ten of your friends. Cause if you haven't see it you are missing out.

You're Next *** 1/2

who's up for a great Horror movie this girl right here. I have to say I picked this movie up based solely on the cover it is a very intriguing cover. I'm not going to lie the beginning was rough to get through some really bad acting  but once the action started you kind of forgot about that. The main Character Erin (awesome name by the way lol) was well written I was so happy to see a girl that didn't just scream and run into a room with no exit trip over air and scoot herself across the floor crying and pointing a weapon she is never going to use. If your a true Horror fan you know exactly what I'm talking about lol. This Erin Chick was bad ass she didn't hesitate and shocked even me by her gumption. Parts of it was a bit predictable but the movie was very enjoyable and at the end you will say holy shit!!! I am defiantly going to buy this one it was a nice surprise.

Lone Survivor *****

The new Mark Wahlberg movie Lone Survivor is a must see. I couldn't wait to see this movie not because I am  huge Mark Wahlberg fan because I am but because I'm a bigger Ben Foster Fan. This movie tells just a short part of these courageous men's life but it has a huge impact. This movie restores my faith in humanity if only just a little bit. It made me really think what our soldiers go through on a daily basis and I have got to say they are stronger then me and I appreciate there sacrifice and the sacrifice of there families. I hope that this movie at least is nominated for the academy award for best film because it truly deserves it. Capitan Philips also is a true and great story but Lone Survivor pulls at the heart and gives you hope. If the Hurt Locker can win then Lone Survivor can at least be nominated. I don't want to give anything away but this movie bonds you to these people and you feel every high and low you are so engrossed into the story that I am happy to say FINALLY a movie that has amazing character development and story .... you hear me say it over and over again and finally Thank You Peter Berg for directing this beautiful piece of art. .I just hope that people take notice because it is not all hype this movie is the best war movie since Saving Private Ryan,!

Riddick ***

I know I wasnt the only person who was looking forward to this movie finally being made. I am a huge Vin Diesel fan not to mention a Riddick fan. But I may have hyped myself and the movie up so much in my head that I had doomed myself for disappointment. I have to say that I was highly upset with the cheesy lines when I heard them I just kept thinking Riddick wouldnt say that. It wasn't till maybe half way through the movie where I started to feel like I was watching a Riddick film. I understand he was suppose to be "broken" but hello this is Riddick the badass furyian who you can not hurt let alone kill. The beginning was a bit emo im not gonna lie. The dog was awesome I loved that relationship and I hated that they killed it but I understand why they did it was what Ruddick needed to get his mojo back. The casting was iffy at best I thought that the new Johns was the original Johns son not dad I mean you could have casted an older person so it would at least look possible. When I raised this point in a discussion with a friend of mine he informed me that it could be possible that a dad could look younger then his son by being in hyper sleep for a longer period of time then the son. So OK this maybe true but if your not thinking that when watching the movie you coukd be like me and say WTF how is he the dad he looks so much younger then Johns from Pitch Black and that was over ten years ago.....I did actually like Batista in the movie he did a good job I wasn't thinking oh god another wrestler is trying to act I actually didn't think that at all. I liked Katee Sackhoff in the movie I loved her in Battlestar Galactica but if she is not into men then why at the end was she all over Riddick I mean really the whole movie we had to hear how she didn't "do" men. I can't blame her I would switch teams too for Riddick but it just seemed off almost akward. The ending was solid after that I do Wish Karl Urban was in it more but they did hint that there will be another one so I can't wait to see it but I will not hype it up so much this time...

Hunger Games: Catching Fire **** 1/2

Catching Fire was a movie I was counting down the days till it was released. I am so glad to say they did not disappoint. I do have to say for the record I was a little bit annoyed with the first one with the omission of the very important character Madge. But they redeemed themselves  with the second instalment which was pretty much how I imagined it as I read the book except.....yes there is a but I had a different interpretation when I was reading the book so it may just be me but, I didn't think Katniss loved Gale in that way the portrayed it the movie. I assumed she loved him more like a brother / best friend so I was a bit confused with the movies love triangle. I know she didn't want to hurt either boys but I thought she loved Gale as a brother and Peeta more as a boyfriend but pushed him away because she didn't want to hurt like her mom if she lost him. Maybe I just read into it what I wanted to not what was really there. please feel free to correct me. But number two.....If I'm not mistaking they omitted another character  Lavina the bed chamber maid with no tongue......She plays a huge part in the second and third book. She is one of the people tortured to death in front of Peeta to traumatize him so I feel that she deserved a part. I'm glad they included the arrest of Cinna it was exactly the way I thought it would be very emotional and dramatic.  Everything else in the movie was perfect I didn't want it to end at all I feel they ended the movie at the perfect spot. I am now counting down the days until the third one comes out.

Grown ups 2 ***** Hilarious

Finally a funny comedy ......I have not laughed this hard in a movie in a long time (I snorted I was laughing so hard). The movie critics didn't give it good reviews saying there was no point to the movie but there is. I wonder if these said critic's have families. The movie is about the gang moving back from the city to there home town and everyday life as mundane as it is when you put down roots and just have your friends for entertainment. I mean I have been married for 11 years and I have two kids and this was like a day in the life man, hit the nail on the head. I guess you can call it the family man's shenanigans. We all have friends like these characters (or at least I do) so we can relate that is what makes it so funny. It's about how we get older but we are still that same person who wants to have fun we still dare are friends to jump of the cliff like we did in high school. There's will always be that spot that ever generation thinks they found first. It shows how this young generation has no respect for anyone let alone there elders and need a good ass beating. I like that they put bullies in the movie to show kids that its not ok to pick on kids and that you can be strong and stand up for yourself.
I do have one issue with the movie it was missing Rob Schneider and they don't even mention him...... but , one a positive note I didn't notice until about half way through. They added some great new characters like Shaq's part which I have to say he is freaking funny. They have all the same kids which is cool to see them growing up. It has a great message and it just makes you feel good. I don't understand some of these critic's bashing this movie. It is down right one of the funniest movies to come out in a long time and I'm talking at least two years. Yes it blows The Heat, Identity Thief ,  Hangover 3 and any other comedy that has come out in the last two years out of the water.

Frozen Ground ****

Frozen Ground is a true story about an Alaskan state trooper named Jack Holcombe who hunts down a serial rapist/killer. Now I love a good movie based off a true story but, sometimes you wonder did this really happen. Well I can say for sure this one did. It started back in the early 70's and ended in the early 80's. The casting was great in this movie Nicholas Cage plays the state trooper (and he was the nick cage we all fell in love with he doesn't do the usual crazy thing he does he was great) while Vanessa Hudgens plays the victim Cindy Paulson and she plays a great hot mess a little whinny but she did a good job . John Cusack plays Robert Hansen the bad guy and I'm starting to think that John Cusack maybe in a very dark place right now because his last 4 roles have been really horribly dark. I have to say he plays a great serial killer but I think he may need a change to something a little happier cause he is really starting to look the part which is creepy and I'm starting to worry about his mental health. This story is tragic and I mean super chilling made more so by the fact this is true. I mean 10 years he was able to get away with it. I just don't understand the justice system sometimes. The Writer/Director Scott Walker added some nice touches to the movie. I enjoyed the photo gallery of all the real girls who's bodies were found and not found I think that was a great touch and also really cemented this movie as being not just another kidnap/torture film. It really hit home the fact that these poor women went through such unspeakable things and he was almost not caught. This movie was captivating and kept you interested the whole time. I also wonder why this movie wasn't advertised or in theaters long? I mean it came to theaters in August 2013 and was released on DVD in October 2013 that is a quick turn around. On rotten tomatoes it has an average of 5.1 stars out of 10 come on people have we become so numb to theses types of stories that we just shrug it off. This movie wasn't very graphic which I appreciate I like them just hinting around about what happened or making suggestions letting me use my imagination which can make the violence more brutal and the anticipation greater. Over all a well written chilling movie. I say its a must see. On a side note though I thought the wife of the state trooper was a cold hearted bitch......watch the movie you will see why.

R.I.P.D **

Rest in Peace is a very good name for this movie. It started out with promise I was laughing it had some well written lines. Then around half way through it just died (no pun intended). the laughter left there were some good lines delivered by Ryan Reynold who has great comedic timing. but it wasn't enough to save this movie. I don't know who Jeff Bridges was trying to channel but he missed! He reminded me of Yosemite Sam for the loony tunes cartoons. He was just ridiculous. I wish they would have given more lines to the people who played what they looked like to everyone else because those few moments were pretty funny. Maybe before they start a movie with just an idea they should have more then the beginning written. I'm sure that's not what happened but that's what the movie portrays. They had a well written , funny beginning with a great new concept but they didn't know where to go with it. Also that big guy they were chasing in the beginning I swear to you that's the guy who played Buzz (the big brother)in home alone.I'm tiring to confirm that it is true but as of now I really just think its him. Any-who I got side tracked lol.....I didn't even like Kevin Bacon in this movie which is blasphemy because I always like Kevin but, its not his fault his charater was written half ass there was no depth to it. I don't know maybe I'm just asking to much of writer's. I have been spoiled by the great writer's of the 80's that cared about having a well rounded script. What are they teaching in film school? Maybe they should really rethink there curriculum. Because if they don't we are going to have a bunch of shallow half ass movies that bomb at the box office and you people (Hollywood folk) are going to stare with mouths a gap thinking I don't understand how did this movie fail......when will you understand you can't just put a pretty face i.e. Brad Pitt, Ryan Reynolds ....  in the lead role and expect it to cover the fact your writing sucks (unless your writing a movie like Magic Mike). I just think that this movie could have been great if they would have had a better story. The concept was cool and unique but horribly written.

added note: I was right the big guy "Pulaski" is played by none other then Devin Ratray the big brother buzz from home alone. score one point for me lol

The Conjuring an R rating for what.......**

The Conjuring is a "scary" movie based on a true event that happened to a family in the 70's. I love a good haunting movie based off true events like Amityville horror which I found to be very scary. This movie received and R rating just for being  "too scary". So I was super stoked to see this I was expecting to be scared Sh@! less. Well I was disappointed again. Why the heck was this given an R rating it wasn't scary at all I didn't even jump once and I'm an easy jumper. Let's just put this in perspective my husband fell asleep and I was left to watch it alone and I still wasn't sacred lol. But after I let it sink in I decided to watch it again in hopes that maybe because I had such high hopes for this movie it distracted me from enjoying the movie. So I enlisted my 12 year old to watch it with me (Yes I know worst mother of the year award at least I pre watched it to make sure there wasn't anything to inappropriate ). I have to say even the second time it was lack luster and not so scary even my daughter was yawning. So I ask again why was this given and R rating for being "too scary"? My guess is they were making headlines and trying to stir up curiosity so people would go see the film. I am starting to realize that movie ratings are subject to political and self serving agendas. This movie should have been rated PG-13 at most. Now what I really think they should have done was include that Annabelle doll more or maybe just make a movie about that cause that was the creepiest part of the whole entire movie. My daughter and I both agree that Annabelle was a creepy story but, was also added at  very odd places at the beginning and mid end of the movie. It really didn't make sense there was no reason for those parts of the movie. I understand they used that story to introduce the Ghost hunters but if your going to use such a creepy and captivating story for your intro you better make sure the main story is scarier and more captivating so that you don't have Anabelle in this case being the more memorable character of the movie. When the movie ended the most talked about part was the doll everyone was more interested in that story then the one that was told. So much so that I to was so interested in the doll that I also looked up on the inter web and found out that the Annabelle doll is real. There are a lot of stories to go with the doll so many that they could make an amazing movie. I know myself and others would line up to see it. I know there have been other doll movies like Child's Play and Dead Silence but this one is different. Not only is it based off of true events but also you can look it up it verify them. Also it was already introduced in a movie so the curiosity has already be set up. You would just need to write and amazing script and direct it well with a good ending. The way they ending The Conjuring was dumb I was expecting it to jump items and leave the music box and go into the locket and in turn take over a new domain. Which would have actually mad
e the weird and ill place scene with the ghost and the doll make much more sense. So alas another mediocre horror film getting great reviews for no reason but to make money.

Pacific Rim *****

I can't say enough about how much I loved this movie. It was like Godzilla vs Transformers! I just totally
geeked out about how cool the monsters were they were never the same they were always evolving. The Robots were unique to each nationality and the idea behind how they worked was so in depth. I have been pretty rough on movies lately nothing has been different all the action movies have been the same thing no plot and lots of explosions and action. Which is OK if you want to turn your brain off for a bit. But this movie is just so complex. they have great character development and back stories. You are never wondering why someone is acting a certain way or why something is happening. You pretty much just watch it unfold and enjoy the story and action. It is so rare to have both A great story and plot line with amazing action and special fx. Also I must say if you have the chance to see this in 3D I implore you to do so. It had to be the most amazing 3D movie I have ever seen. It was not just certain parts of the movie were in 3D the whole movie was and it wasn't always the pop out 3D its like the back of the screen is gone and it just opens up into the scene and you could just walk through. just amazing!. I also will have to say the acting was really good Idris Elba can really give a mean speech after his rallying of the troops I was on board and ready to fight. If you also are a fan of his like I am and you haven't watched his show Luther you must it's on BBC America. Anyway,  I also didn't think Charlie Hunnan was going to be able to hold his own off the set of SOA but boy was I wrong kudos to him cause I was pretty much saying he will never be able to move on from that show. (eats her words). I love when actors prove me wrong. So if you haven't already seen this just go out an buy the DVD because this one you will want to watch over and over again.

The Purge **

Oh my god this was the most fuatrating movie to watch. It wasn't suspenseful at all. The acting was horrible there were so many things wrong with this movie I don't even know where to being.
*SPOILER ALERT*
First off let's just say this could have been totally avoided with the simple fact that any normal parent would not let there kid know the damn passcode to the security system. But yes I know then there wouldn't be a movie. So ok lets say that happens why the hell would you not atleast talk to the guy your son just rescued see how he is and maybe team up. I mean I guess its better to have a stranger running around your house instead of being able to keep an eye on him. We are not even going to mention the idiot boyfriend. What parent let's there kids seperate from them and throw temper tantrums in the middle if a crisis. Like I said so much idiocy that I couldn't even enjoy the film. The twist was predictable. The ending was lame and uneventful. Just watch the trailer its the better movie.

The Heat ***

The Heat was not as funny as I thought it was going to be. It has it's moments but it was  more awkward then funny. Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy had good chemistry so I feel like they were held back by the script. Melissa's character was way to butch it needed a few more little feminine touches I thought she screamed butch lesbian rather then tough tomboy raised in a house of brothers just saying. The best part of the movie is the bar scene were they get drunk and if I heard correctly they were really drunk lol, The ending was predictable so there were no surprises there so for me the movie was just lack luster. It reminded my of miss congeniality but its ugly step sister. I find both actresses very funny but this movie was just something you have seen already so it wasn't entertaining or funny. I really haven't seen a comedy I liked in a while we are losing our funny bones. They are resorting to stupid crude humor like farts and cussing and I'm sorry that just ins't funny after you seen it done a billion times. We need to go back to the old school comedy's that relied on comedic timing and great writing. you can even throw in the occasional slap stick but do it tasteful like in national lampoons Christmas vacation. These are movies that live on past it's prime and become classics and The Heat will not be one of those.

After Earth ***

I feel bad for the bad press this film got it was not deserved. Yes I only gave it three stars but that does not mean I didn't enjoy the film because I did. I like pretty much all of M. Night Shyamalan films he is an amazing director I feel people don't get him.  He is a very deep thinker and unfortunately it does not sometimes translate well to the viewers or they just don't get it. It's sad that in today's times movies have to spell out everything not leaving us to use our brains and actually think about what we are watching. as a society we have become use to everyone dumbing it down for us. So on that note I feel bad for Mr. shyamalan for getting bad press for making us think and pretty much being black listed by movie goers just because his name is attached to a movie. After Earth is a very complex movie you see Will Smith go through a huge array of emotions while still keeping up his military persona while also trying to keep himself alive. He did an amazing job as an actor in this movie. His son Jaden Smith unfortunately didn't do so well he really needs to learn to project and enunciate his words because in the being narration he did I couldn't understand at thing he said. Also his acting was a bit weak that could not be all his fault I believe it also had to do with the writting that at times was horrendously cheesy and his blow ups at his father were ill timed. A friend and I were discussing this movie and feel that Jaden's character should have been a daughter not a son to give that vulnerable  strength a little more depth and also make her achievements greater. The special effect and the monsters are really cool and impressive.I appreciate when someone can come up with new ideas and looks for monsters. But if you have seen this movie you will also notice that the deserted earth almost looks like the Jurassic period there are no crumbled buildings or any signs of human life at all except some cave drawings. So wouldn't it have been an awesome twist if they actually landed on earth in the past instead of future and they had to meet up with early man and then in turn are able to fix all of our mistakes so we would never have to leave earth in the first place. just and idea......It was an interesting idea for a movie with many facets they just were not executed well or should I say thoroughly .It's still a good movie that keeps you entertained and you want to watch it till then end to see what happens. It's just when you get there your let down a little bit.
